The body of Eric John Shestalo, 50, was located in the Bridal Falls area, said RCMP. He died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

“Significant police resources were involved for the search for the armed suspect for the past few days,” said RCMP Deputy Commissioner Dwayne McDonald at a news conference on Monday. “And I can advise you as of today, the suspect was located deceased.”

Shestalo was the suspect in a triple shooting at a home in the 9700-block McNaught Avenue last week.

Officers found one woman dead at the scene, while another woman died of her injuries in hospital. A man also sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said Shestalo had a “personal connection” with the two deceased victims, identified as Amber Culley and Mimi Kates.
