Reader letter: Student helps makes difference for Hiatus House

Article content

I am a 15-year old student. For six weeks from Jan. 22 to Feb. 26, I conducted a fundraiser for Hiatus House in Windsor.

Each week, I made boxes of cupcakes and donated half of the proceeds to the Hiatus House. My goal was to raise $1,000 and very proud to say I surpassed my goal by more than double, raising a total of $2,180 for the Hiatus House.

After I was in contact with the organization and the fundraiser finished, all of the money was used to purchase grocery and gas gift cards, plus many other things they were in need of so they did not have to buy them themselves.

I am thrilled by the success of this fundraiser. This certainly will not be my last fundraiser and I am ready to make an even bigger difference in the future. Thank you to everyone that helped me promote this to become such a success.
