Ralf Rangnick reveals Anthony Elanga wanted to leave Man Utd on loan

In another question about Elanga, Rangnick said: “Anthony, in all the games he has played so far, just shows that he’s playing with all the passion and all the fun and joy.

“He’s just enjoying himself on the pitch. He’s fully aware what his strength is and his assets and his weapons, and he’s always trying to play and show those weapons.

“This is what he did again today [against Atletico]. Not only with the goal that he scored, he had another two or three great runs and whenever he did that you could, all of a sudden, see that Atletico had problems with this kind of approach.”

Elanga is now focusing on his recovery and hopes to feature again, in Saturday’s Premier League match against Watford at Old Trafford.
