Arsenal’s last-gasp victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers this evening has given rise to a number of noteworthy talking points post-match.

Mikel Arteta’s troops of course returned to action a short time ago, welcoming Bruno Lage’s Wolves to the Emirates in the hopes of making it three Premier League wins on the bounce.

And, when all was said and done in north London, this is precisely what the Gunners managed, in the most spectacular fashion imaginable.

With a full 82 minutes on the clock, it looked set to be ‘one of those nights’ for Arsenal, after a dreadful mistake on the part of Gabriel Magalhaes allowed Hwang Hee-chan to nip in and put Wolves in front early in proceedings.

Arteta’s hosts, however, simply refused to lay down and accept defeat, eventually levelling things up inside the closing ten minutes of action courtesy of super sub Nicolas Pepe:

And there was time for further drama yet, as, with almost the last kick of the game, Alexandre Lacazette’s effort across the face of goal somehow made its way beyond Jose Sa and in, sending the Emirates into delirium, and Arsenal to within a point of 4th-placed Manchester United in the process:

As reported by a number of sources in attendance at the Emirates, Raul Jimenez, whose life-changing head injury of course came in front of the Arsenal faithful late in 2020, was booed and jeered off the pitch by many of the home crowd in attendance post-match:
